Mountain Tours

Los Chorros De la Calera



Juayua's pride. The waterfalls are only 2 kmts from the center of town. "Los Chorros" are three waterfalls in different sizes, between 5 and 60 meters tall. Underneeth, the water gathers in pools which were originally made to create and use the energy of the water. The waterfalls are united by tunnels. The tour starts with a hike through coffee plantations and tropical forest. When you finally get into the clean and refreshing water you will feel in deep contact with nature. And if you dare to go through the tunnel you will
feel the adrenaline in your veins. The best time to make this tour is in the morning.

Geishers and hotsprings



If you think you've seen it all, this is the tour for you! From Finca El Portezuelo hiking up the mountain
through the cloudforest and the gardens of wild orquids. Pasing coffee plantations and ravines you'll get to the geishers. A place in the middle of nowhere, where you really feel the power of nature. The mud, which is created there, is curing for the skin. In the hotspring you can wash yourself in the mud and the hot water, and finally forget everything about stress. We will bring breakfast and coffee or tea for the break.

Horsebackriding



Going up the mountain of Apaneca, pasing through the small "coffeepicker" community "San Juan de Dios" you'll get to Finca El Portezuelo. Inside there will be 17 peruvian horses, ready to take you for a ride through the coffee plantations, cloudforests and wild orquid gardens. You will be able to see 3rd part of El Salvador from the back of a beautiful and calm horse.

The Green Lagoon



The green lagoon is a lake placed in the crater of a volcano, surrounded by coffee plantations and tropical forest. It's a beautiful place. Perfect for a relaxed day.

The seven waterfalls



It starts with hiking through coffee plantations and forest trails which leads to the first waterfall "El Bebedero". Then following the river and enjoying nature and more waterfalls, the hike ends in "Los chorros de la Calera" where it's possible to swim and take a shower underneeth the falls.

Mountain Bike Downhills



Try our "Specialized" mountain bikes and explore the coffee trails of Juayua, Apaneca, and Santiago de Maria regions. Enjoy some sick downhill trails through the coffee plantation with spectacular views. You'll find the experience unforgettable. There are trails for all levels. At the end, a ride takes you back up.

Moto Tours



Enjoy a great ride on La cordillera del Balsamo with professional motorcycle guides. Guillermo, pro-racer, takes you for about 4 hours on a fast and thrilling trip with great views of both the country and the ocean. Begginer, no problem, he makes sure you completely feel comfortable with the bike before leaving the premises. If you are worried about getting injured, the tour is very safely designed and racing is not permitted, so get pumped and try it out.

Walk through coffee farms, geysers, and hike up the mountains into a thick cloud forest at 5000 ft. The Flora and Fauna is incredible. Maybe hiking up Izalco Volcano is more your style. We offer a variety of hikes depending on the group's desires and ability.

Learn about the different techniques used to produce our world-renowned coffee and get your hands dirty as you get a chance to practice some of these activities. You will also visit our "beneficios" or processing plants and you will be able to see every aspect of our coffee, from seed to cup. All this while you enjoy the colorfull scenery of the "ruta de las flores" region.

Perhaps our ancient culture is more appealing. Visit the ruins of Tazumal, Casa Blanca, and Los Gordinflones at Santa Leticia. You will also get a chance to see our present culture and the ordinary life of people who live in all the towns that make the "Ruta de las Flores".
